15/05/2018 - Bloomin' Lovely

In conjunction with 'Didsbury in Bloom', we have hung up hanging baskets at all of our houses across Didsbury and Withington. We have asked the housemates of each household to take care of the plants inside and to ensure they continue to blossom throughout the spring and summer months. For every hanging basket still blooming by August Bank Holiday weekend, we will make a donation to The Christie on the household’s behalf.

We believe this will be a fitting tribute to our late gardner Doug Sparrow, who sadly lost his battle with cancer last summer. He was treated so well by all of the healthcare professionals at The Christie before he passed away last July.

Look out for our ‘flower watch’ updates over the next couple of months on our Facebook and Instragram pages

08/09/2017 - Total Warrior update

Thanks to our fundraising efforts during Total Warrior, we are very proud to present this cheque for almost £3000 to The Christie. Well done to our amazing team and THANK YOU to everyone who sponsored us!

05/08/2017 - idealHouseshare took on Total Warrior

On 5th August, a team of 13 staff members and tenants from idealHouseshare took on the gruelling Total Warrior assault course in the Lake District. A 10K run mixed in with 30 SAS style obstacles, which included climbing, crawling through (and getting stuck in) thick mud, wading through rivers, plunging into iced water, jumping over fire and even being electrocuted. We knew it would be tough both mentally and physically but we kept thinking about that free beer greeting us at the end. More importantly, knowing we had collectively raised £3000 for The Christie, we were keen to throw ourselves into this challenge and take it on the best we could.

We all completed Total Warrior within our time target and are proud to have raised a significant amount for a very worthy cause. A massive thank you to everyone who donated and supported us!
