Boris Bites! Our top 5 half price eats around Withington and Didsbury Village
Throughout August you can go out for a meal and the government will split the bill with you. It’s like dining with Rishi Sunak, but without the inconvenience of having to have a conversation with him. It’s part of their efforts to get people eating in restaurants again to recoup their losses over lockdown. And I for one am not complaining. Almost everywhere in Didsbury and Withington is doing this scheme but here are a few highlights chosen by yours truly:
Saints & Scholars
Here’s a restaurant that could make anyone a morning person. Saints & Scholars is right in the heart of Didsbury village and does a cracking breakfast. A perfect place to eat well in a cosy location. And of course, it’s situated in Didsbury, the brunch capital of the world. I can’t recommend the full English enough, it’ll actually change your life. No exaggeration. And this amazing quality doesn’t stop at lunchtime, they continue serving meals that’ll make your day, all day long.
Hispi
Let’s face it, it’s a bit pricey here. But now you can find out if it lives up to the price, for half of it. This is the sort of restaurant that this offer is perfect for – the ones that you wouldn’t try otherwise. Now you don’t need a special occasion to splash out, you can eat like you’re rich and save money at the same time. It’s win win. The braised feather blade of Beef, honestly, mind-blowing!
Ruyi Vegetarian House
Of course there’s a vegetarian option on this list. But this isn’t on here just to please the veggies – this restaurant stands up on its own two feet purely by the quality of the food. You don’t have to be a veggie to enjoy these meals, in fact, it’s proof if you need it, that meat-free options don’t have to be a compromise. And even better, this offer perfectly coincides with Meatless Mondays too.
Mad Giant
So you’re choosing a place to eat out and everyone wants something different? Or maybe your other half can’t decide what they want to eat? Well fear not, the Mad Giant is here to settle any dispute. That’s because this relatively new place is a food hall full of different dishes to tackle anyone’s tastes. These food halls have been popping up in different towns round here for a bit now and there’s a very good reason for it – they’re f*cking ace.
Kyotoya
Withington High Street might not seem like the place you’d find a restaurant of this quality but prepare to be surprised. This Japanese restaurant is sure to impress. The food is some of the best you’ll get in all of South Manchester. Trust me. Your taste buds will thank you.
But these aren’t the only places you can fill your stomach without emptying your wallet. In fact, almost everywhere is doing the ‘eat out to help out’ offer. Click HERE to type in your post code and discover where you can eat for half price near you!
