Boris Bites! Our top 5 half price eats around West Didsbury
Living in Manchester we are so incredibly fortunate to have such a vast and diverse range of restaurants to choose from. I genuinely struggle to think of a country/part of the world that isn’t represented within the Manchester restaurant scene, and I’m yet to be disappointed by any of the dozens of places that I’ve personally sampled. Here, in our lovely south Manchester suburb of Didsbury, we aren’t short on delicious eateries as well. I’ll be narrowing down my favourite 5 restaurants in West Didsbury that have opted in to the government’s eat out scheme.
ZumuSushi
Any food preference list of mine always has to include sushi, no debate. I’ve been to Zumu once and the sushi was incredible, with my personal favourites being their array of Uramaki Specials. With it taking part in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, it’s the perfect opportunity to sample more dishes on the menu…
Pizza Express
As much as I was wanting to solely include independent restaurants in this piece, I felt that I couldn’t leave this one out. Pizza Express, a true timeless classic. Both their classic and romana pizzas are consistently fantastic, while their dough balls are a must try as well. I think it’s great that so many big chains such as Pizza Express are getting involved in the scheme, and it gives us hungry consumers even more variety and food for thought when selecting our discount destination!
Casa Italia
This Italian restaurant is the typical classic with a unique twist type of place. A menu that has all the classic pasta dishes that you could think of, combined with some of the most beautiful cured meats that I’ve ever come across. And what’s more, they sell them fresh from their very own deli! If I haven’t persuaded you to check it out, then surely the eternal never-ending queue outside their shopfront Deli will entice you in.
Albert’s
This classy & elegant number is a pure modern, British beauty. Their Sunday lunch is stupendous, their variety of chicken and fish dishes to die for, and I’m told they have some delightful veggie options as well! Accompany any of these with their classic range of cocktails, you’re in for an absolute treat.
GB Pizza
This is a popular choice with everyone in our office as we’re located just above Great British Pizza. It’s our first choice for a delicious wood fired pizza or a cheeky after work Big Wave. I’ll definitely be going back this month to make the most of the 50% off!
The eat out to help out government scheme is a great way to help the hospitality industry ease itself back into normality post-lockdown, and while many of us have had to tighten the purse-strings over this period, the scheme is a brilliant idea to entice customers to start coming back. So many other local restaurants could’ve made the list but just missed out, and I know I for one am eagerly anticipating my next visit to one of West Didsbury’s finest eateries.
