Winner of Best ‘Virtual Lockdown Business’ !!!
We are ecstatic to announce on Friday 3rd September 2021, Idealhouseshare won the award for the best ‘Lockdown Virtual Business’ at the Greater Manchester Business Awards!
On the weekend, we attended The Greater Manchester Business Awards that were held at the fabulous Brooklyn Hotel. We were up against many other companies and the competition was high. The outcome, however, was our team climbing on the tables to celebrate winning!
We are so grateful for the recognition we have received for simply doing our utmost to keep our staff & tenants morale high, when life felt so low.
During the pandemic, we could not offer what makes Ideal House Share, Ideal House Share. We could no longer operate our social tenant events such as pub quizzes, tennis matches, BBQ events and much more; but we knew we had to stay true to our nature, we knew we needed to adapt.
In true 2020 style, we took our events digital! Pub Quizzes became Zoom quizzes. Our tenants went from solicitors by day to Mary Berry by night. One of our weekly cooking competitions transported us from Didsbury to Greece, Spain and Portugal via dishes.
We knew how hard this time has been for our staff, tenants & landlords. At a time when human contact was minimal, we knew we needed to connect. We couldn’t just pack up shop!
The quizzes and competitions became a success, but we understood that these were only skin deep. We were seeing tenants losing jobs & family members and were in need of mental health support.
We supported our tenants as much as we possibly could in terms of keeping them occupied, assisting with rent and by lending an ear. We sent out regular welfare messages & information on how to access professional mental health support.
We have been through a 12 year journey to become what Idealhouseshare is today, with the past year and a half being the hardest we have experienced. We are proud to say that we have come out of the other end, stronger & better. Our values have been to provide young professionals with a better way to live and experience Manchester, we hope we managed to maintain this over the pandemic.
