Home Refurbishment Case Study: Cotton Hill
As part of our management service to landlords, we offer a full design appraisal with our in house interior design team. With this, we make suggestions on how to transform the property to help maximise attraction and ultimately achieve a higher value let.
Here we have a two bedroom townhouse on Cotton Hill, Withington. The property was signed up as one of our serviced accommodation. This means we market the property on popular sites such as AirBnB Booking.com, as well as to our own corporate clients. The property is then rented on an all inclusive, short term basis as a fully self contained unit.
The interior of the property was all white, which lacked personality. As the property is to be rented out on our short term let platform, it is important that the decor is eye catching to easily grab people’s attention.
The ground floor felt small and restricted, with doors segregating the lounge and the dining area. In the kitchen, the worktops were wooden and worn down in parts and the wall tiles required regrouting.
How did we overcome this?
Firstly, we removed the internal doors between the living room and the dining room to open up the space and create a sleek, modern open plan design. Then it was time to inject personality! We re-homed a blue sofa which we already had in storage and used this as the base of our colour scheme.
I’m sure you’ll agree that the place looks incredible after the refurb, which was achieved with a just a small financial outlay.
