Staff Spotlight: Ryan Walsh
When did you start working with Ideal?
I joined Ideal in September 2018 after leaving my job in the city centre. I have now been with Ideal 3 years! The time has flown by.
What is your position & roles within the office?
My position at Ideal is lettings and property management. This entails many responsibilities. It involves dealing with all lettings from the viewing to the move in. Although this sounds as simple as paying for a room and then moving in. There is a lot of work that goes into a move in behind the scenes. For example, we have to conduct a credit check on the tenant and their guarantor, organise cleaners, sort all maintenance and have the room spick and span within a time frame of 24 hours.
I also deal with property management. I currently manage the portfolio. This means I am the first point of all for all tenants, regarding maintenance or general issues. I see my main role as making sure my tenants are the happiest they can be.
The tenants seem to like you on our social media! What is your relationship with the tenants?
All my tenants seem to have taken a liking to me! I believe this is due to the personal and hands on approach I carry in my every day life. Growing up in Manchester and still living here I have a great local knowledge which I pass on to most of our tenants; as the majority are from out of town.
In regards to social media, must just have a pretty face!
What is the everyday office environment like?
Everyday office life is fast paced and exciting. No day is the same. This makes waking up in the morning a doddle!
At Ideal we believe team work is the main part to a business’s longevity and this really shows. We have a range of ages, backgrounds and ethnicities. We all get on really well and all see each other outside of work hours
Where do you see yourself in the near future.
I see myself continuing my prosperous relationship with Ideal; working my way up to be a manger of several lettings agents. With the right team who knows what we can accomplish together
