Staff Spotlight: Coral Hughes
How long have you been working for Ideal?
I’ve been working here for just a little over 1 year now. Time really speeds by!
What is your job title & roles within the company?
I’m a Content Creator/Marketing Assistant. My roles vary within multi-media marketing. That involves offline and online. From printed newsletters to email marketing, and social media management. I manage this for Idealhouseshare which focuses on the tenant side, and Ideal Property Group, which focuses on the landlords. When I’m not doing any of this, I will have tasks of general administration work and customer service.
What are your day-to-day duties?
The days can vary depending on if there are any campaigns with a short deadline approaching. If I had to say a casual day, I start off by responding to all my emails, I then review all of our social media channels. I’ll proceed on making sure any content from my marketing calendar has been created and scheduled. After that, I’ll spend the rest of the day ticking off my list of things to do. Some days I may have to go out and get some content for social media, some days I’ll need to focus on our website design, and other days I may need to stay in and crack on with video editing. It’s a lot of work but because it’s so varied it keeps the spark alive!
What are the bigger tasks you have within the content calendar?
The bigger tasks are usually when we have a big campaign or where video editing is needed. These are usually a lot more lengthy, but in general, the bigger task is catering to more than one business. As we cater to both sides of the business, from tenants to landlords. The content is much different. On the tenant side, I’ve created houseshare-related content, competitions, and events. (After the pandemic hit, we have not been able to do many social events in person since I started working here, so I’m excited for the time to come when I can offer great experiences for everyone. I love the idea of making people happier in general, so for something such as property management that offers these things, well. I don’t know of any other companies that offer this special value.)
In terms of the landlords, we have so far achieved our very first successful webinar, which is where I spent much time creating content and learning email marketing. We are now in the process of growing on social and creating our first monthly printed newsletter.
Where can you see yourself in the future?
All we can do is just have a rough idea, and let the whirlwind of life take its course. If I had to say something, I see myself having much more experience and most importantly, improved confidence. I love the varied tasks I have that keep my life exciting, as long as it’s meaningful and spreads some form of happiness. Maybe I’ll even have a side business. Keep an eye out!
What are your hobbies & interests?
I’m an aspiring free-flowing hippy, yet a serial daily list-checker in the workplace and in my personal life. I love the idea of going through bucket lists and squeezing everything out of what life has to offer. These lists vary from activities, restaurants, bars, personal development, and the big one, movies.
