Staff Spotlight: Asif Omar
Congratulations on your fairly new role as Business Development Manager. How has it been so far?
Thank you. Yes, I am certainly excited to have joined Ideal so far. The opportunity to come to Ideal was too big of a chance to miss and I’m so excited for what the future holds.
What has your experience been like prior to this role?
My previous role was at the University of Manchester Students’ Union where I looked after a group of students who put on events and activities whilst representing their fellow students in halls. I also have worked as a Business Development Executive for a start-up and even actually started my own property business during the lockdown.
What does this entail for landlords/tenants?
For landlords, ultimately it means bringing in more revenue for their properties, With national leader Pass the Keys becoming our official partner, it is really exciting times for our SA landlords as there are a number of benefits that only Pass the Keys do and we can’t wait to share them with our landlords. For our guests, it means higher-quality properties and more amazing social events and competitions!
So we should be seeing some more good events coming our way for the house shares again soon?
Absolutely! Using my previous experience, I am excited to create some amazing events for our tenants for Ideal. In my previous role. I have been involved in delivering petting zoos, funfairs, Harry Potter yoga, and much more. I even hosted a night in Academy 2 with Dick and Dom! I can’t promise Dick and Dom but I can certainly promise some great events.
You seem very passionate and know where you’re heading. What is your biggest goal?
I have a number of goals but ultimately I would like to purchase my own properties as that is where the true wealth is. Once we get to that point, I would like to open up my own youth centre and support the younger generation in achieving their wildest goals. It would be a youth centre that would teach the younger generation on how to be an entrepreneur and things that the schools don’t really focus on. There will also be a focus on mental health as a lot of the younger generation are suffering due to the unknowns of the future.
Hobbies or interests?
In my spare time, I love going to property networking events and I am a team member of the local Manchester Pin Meeting. Outside of property, I am a keen sportsman with hockey being my main sport. I am currently the captain of City of Manchester Hockey Club so if you are looking for a new sport why not come down and give it a go! Get in touch if you are keen 😛
