WHAT TO DO IF YOU HAVE CORONAVIRUS SYMPTOMS

Continue to stay at home if you have either:

  • a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
  • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)

To protect others, do not go to places like a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. Stay at home. Please contact the office to let us know you are isolating.

WHAT WE ARE DOING AT IDEAL HOUSE SHARE?

We want to offer every assurance that we are taking appropriate measures to ensure that we can deliver as many of our services effectively to all of clients and customers, whilst also protecting our tenants & staff.

Please see below a list of changes that we have implemented as advised by the government.

CHANGES TO OUR OPERATIONS:

As the spread of COVID-19 increases, we want to provide transparency and share with you the measures we are taking in order to keep everyone involved safe and reduce any further risk of spreading the virus.

We would like to re-assure all our customers that we will still be operating with as little disruption to services at possible.

Whilst we will be working from the office, observing social distancing guidelines, our office will not be open to the general public. If you have any questions, queries or need to arrange a key collection, please call the office on 01614345556.

VIEWINGS:

We have taken virtual walkthrough videos of all our properties and these are to be used at the first instance. As per the government guidelines, we are still able to carry out physical viewings. Physical viewings will only be carried out if there is a strong interest in the property. Both the agent and the viewer will be wearing PPE, sanitising upon entry with temperatures being taken at the door.

We will ask you as the prospective tenant if you are showing any symptoms or have been in contact with anyone that has within the last 14 days, or if anyone in your household has been self-isolating within the last 14 days. If you answer yes to either question, we will re-arrange the viewing once it is safe to do so. You will be advised that if anything changes before the appointment takes place in relation to the above, that you must tell us and that you will not be able to attend the appointment. Again, your own safety and that of the current occupants and our staff is our number one priority at this time.

MOVE INS/OUTS

Referencing, signing tenancy agreements & guarantor forms will all now be signed electronically. We have a key safe outside of our property where keys can be collected contactless. Move ins/outs are still going ahead.

We will ask you as the incoming tenant if you are showing any symptoms or have been in contact with anyone that has within the last 14 days, or if anyone in your household has been self-isolating within the last 14 days. If you answer yes to either question, we will re-arrange your move in.

MAINTENANCE:

We will continue to operate a maintenance service to our current tenants. Our contractors will wear the appropriate PPE and will adhere, where possible, to the social distancing guidelines. We would ask that when a contractor attends the property, you should vacate the room or areas where the contractor needs to work.

If you or anyone in your household has tested positive, or are self-isolating you should notify the office ASAP. We will either re-arrange the appointment, or try, where it is safe for them to do so, access the property to carry out the repair. Access in these circumstances will only be for emergency repairs. There may be a slight delay in our usual repair times if we are not able to safely attend a property, however, our intention is to attend to all maintenance as quickly as we are able to.

PAYING RENT:

You are legally contracted to continue paying your rental payments, whether you are living in the property or have left to live with family or to go home, as per the terms within your tenancy agreement. If you come into any difficulty paying your rent, it is important that you get in touch with us ASAP.

Finally, we would like to thank all of our customers, contractors and staff for their incredible understanding, patience and support during these difficult times.
